Understanding Seminar Marketing

Seminar Marketing is the bringing of people together under a common premise of educating, all attending the seminar, about a particular product or service. As seminars are used in academic environments to convey specific information to students in mass, seminars are used in social environments convey specific information about products and services to interested consumers in a group setting.

Seminar Marketing is making sure that a company gets specific information to the public about their goods and services and one efficient way is to attract consumers, who are all interested in the same product or service, together and make one presentation. In marketing to large or small groups there is comfort in numbers when listening to a sales presentation versus a one on one situation. In groups anonymity can give the attendees more freedom to ask questions they would not normally ask in a smaller setting.

Seminar Marketing is used today in a number of settings. Some methods are inviting people to dinner and making presentations. Another method is inviting people to a large auditorium and give an all day information meeting. The most popular products that are introduced and sold are financial products or information. Well known wealthy people are billed as the drawing card, and people are invited to come and listen to their success stories. Some of the most notable are Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, and Tony Robbins. These individuals pack meetings with people who are all there to learn how to become rich and achieve financial freedom.

There are many books written on Seminar Selling and how to do it effectively. Since Marketing and Selling a very closely related this topic could be lumped together as one category. Seminar marketing is probably the better of the two topics since marketing covers the development of the product in addition to the selling of it.

Some seminars are free others charge for them, but the end result is that information is taught by the instructors and then acted upon in an individual way. With the advent of the internet the delivery systems are no longer relegated to auditoriums. With the on-line capabilities available it is possible to do seminar marketing through on-line meetings. Financial Freedom Radio—and Home Business Success

On my radio show I have expressed a great concern about the MLM and Network Marketing industry in general. My concern is that unsuspecting people spend their hard earned money based on promises and hype that they end up believing, thinking that they are going to create cash flow that never happens.

People approach the home business with great expectations because they are trusting of the information that is shared with them, by someone who is selling them their home business opportunity. I have heard horror stories about people who have had great expectations, and truly believed that they would see the riches that they were told would happen. These people did what they were told and put lots of energy into their new business and if they saw any revenue come in, it usually is less than what they have spent.

Now I am still trying to get my arms around whether the public is so foolish that they deserve to be conned? Do the people selling the MLM's understand that they are conning the public, and setting out to sell other unsuspecting people on the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Do people in general understand that getting rich takes time? Do they really think that they can sign up for a home based business and wake up the next morning and have riches at the foot of their bed? On the other side of the coin do the MLM business owners, who originally started the business, know that the public will buy into the "riches at the foot of the bed concept" and set out to fool them into thinking that they can get rich? Another question is do all of the people selling other people on riches, down deep inside, know that what they are selling will not work? Do they know that it is all hype and look the other way and become the same hucksters that the people before them are?

School is still out as to whether the public really knows that this type of business model will not work and does it anyway. That the reason they do it is they really want it to work but in their gut they know it will not. But if the public is selling other's on the riches concept knowing that it is destined to fail then shame on them.

In addressing the home business arena we are trying to educate the public into learning how to build a solid business and not one that lines the pockets of others at the top. If the ninety percent were right then they would not be outliving their wealth. They get taken advantage of daily and they don't know it. We have found that most people are losing anywhere from ten to twenty percent of their income annually and they don't know it. This is costing them dearly annually. Instead they make excuses for the losses.

Why don’t people take action? Why don’t people win in Home Businesses?

The question about "Why people don't take action when it is presented to them is a question that has perplexed man for ages".

In continuing the discussion about why people succeed in working on the internet as well as why people succeed in life. When information is presented on any topic it is done so with the intention that people act on it. I have never heard of anyone giving out information with the intention of people not to use it. In addition when people take their precious time to deliver information or teach a subject that will enable anyone listening to do a job better than the people listening must act on it.

The question that perhaps people fear success is partially right. I believe that people don't take action because they have never been taught to take action. Most people are followers and not leaders. Most people say they want wealth, but lack the education to do so and are unwilling to go get it. When the information is presented to them some will always act on it and others will not. As a teacher it is gratifying when even a few take action.

In keeping with the discussion about teaching others how to make money on the internet, the fact that only a hand full of people will act on the information is where the home business industry capitalizes. The MLM and Network Marketing industry understands that people will only work for a short period of time then quit. This is their strategy!

When a person gets all hyped up and buys into a MLM business they go out and recruit friends and family, maybe they will take off and put a hundred or so people into their downline. Usually to get full commissions the home business owner has to purchase a high level of products themselves, which in most cases cost more than they make. This reality will not set in until months after they sign up and start selling. [Most MLM or network marketing companies will not send commissions out for ninety days.] So they recruit their downline and convince everyone how great the program is and are only focused for a short period of time. After reality sets in, and they realize they are spending more then they are making, they quit. [The strategy of the MLM business is that people only stay short term. The way the system is designed is for people to bail out on to the next best opportunity.]

The MLM or Network Marketing business knows that the people will realize that they are spending more money than they are making so the home business owner starts to scale down on their product purchases. As they scale down on the product purchases the commissions drop, only to end up where the home business owner stops buying the product all together. Now their commissions are no longer coming in and the company keeps them. The MLM Company has acquired sales with minimal acquisition cost, and after only a few months they are not paying out commissions. They know how many people will stay and how many will leave. They are building a company on the backs of people who will ultimately quit.

These MLM or Network Companies know that people will not stay focused so they have designed their programs to capitalize on the weakness of the people. This strategy has been alive and well in many industries. The insurance industry does this also. When the MLM or Network Companies can convince the public that they are running a home business, when in fact all they are is a sales person for the MLM Company, and get them to use their own money to grow a business for someone else, then leave giving up the commission that the company no longer has to pay out to anyone else, the public is being duped. You can't be duped unless you were uneducated in what you were doing. The problem with this picture is that the people were unwilling to get the education needed in performing the task of running a home business.

The statistics that "ten percent of the people control ninety percent of the world's wealth" means that the ten percent will take the time to learn and the ninety percent will not. The challenge is to find the people that are in the ten percent, and not spend time with the ninety percent. Or find people in the ninety percent that have a burning desire to get into the ten percent. This is what we teach our clients to do. We teach our clients how they can get into the ten percent and not to be duped by the hype, lies, scams, and dishonesty that pervades the MLM or Network Marketing industry.
